Why the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada?

Hi Crew, 

Since we opened almost one year ago, one of my favourite things about SCULLHOUSE has been watching the way our crew has come together to form a supportive and encouraging community. 

A few months ago, one of our crew let me know she was fighting a brain tumour and came to me with this special request.  Please see her letter below:

Hello fellow rowers!  I have been coming to SCULLHOUSE since May 2017.  I love the positive and energetic environment that Kristin and the rest of the coaches have created.

One of the reasons SCULLHOUSE has been so important to me is because last year I was re-diagnosed with a brain tumour (I've already had neurosurgery once).  I'm very lucky in that my medical team thinks I will beat this again, but it has been a challenging few months to say the least.  Being able to come to rowing class has had a huge positive impact on my mindset.

I consider myself very fortunate to have access to first rate medical care and to have a good outlook for my condition.  Many are not so lucky.  So, in the spirit of making lemonade out of lemons, I approached Kristin about hosting a special charity row event.

I hope to see some of you on the erg on March 3rd - and thanks for reading.

As many of you know, I lost my father in November to brain cancer, so it is a cause close to my own heart. 

So, SCULLHOUSE, let's strap in and pull together in a special 1 hour class in support of this great cause.
