Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring to class?

Please bring a pair of indoor running shoes and a water bottle. Wear something that is comfortable and ready for you to sweat in!

Do you have lockers?

Yes. Our lockers use a combination code, so no need to bring a lock with you.

What if I’ve never rowed before?

Not a problem! We’d love to show you the ropes. Classes start with a technique explanation and your instructor will make sure you get set up on the erg (indoor rowing machine) properly.

What are your hours?

As a new business, we are a lean mean machine. We do not have full-time front desk associates. As a result, we are always open 30 minutes prior to and following class times. Outside of these windows, you might catch us at the desk, but we can’t promise we’ll be there to greet you. If you’d like to pop by outside of class times, please send us an email at inquiries@scullhouse.com and we would be more than happy to arrange a time for you to visit the studio and take a peek inside.

What is the best way to reach you?

Given that we do not always have someone at the front desk, the phone is not always answered. We do always return messages (as long as you leave your number and we can understand it – please repeat your number). The quickest way to reach us outside of class hours is always email, at inquiries@scullhouse.com.

Updated questions for COVID:

Are masks mandatory?

Yes. You must arrive at the studio wearing your mask (and that means over your nose and mouth). You will remain in your mask until you have been admitted to class by the front desk. Once seated on your rowing machine, you may remove your mask for class.

How are you ensuring social distancing in class?

In accordance with the government of Ontario guidance, class size is capped at 50% capacity based on the size of the room.  Our erg studio has a capacity limit of 32 people, so we are operating with 50% capacity based on the space.

What measures are you taking to ensure SCULLHOUSE remains a safe space to workout in?

In addition to our regular thorough cleanings, all touch points, including lockers, doors and rowing machines are being disinfected after every class. We have also added HEPA filters to the rowing studio. Change rooms are limited in capacity to two people in the women’s and one person in the men’s change room at a time.

Do you have showers?

Yes; however, at this time, due to COVID-19, our shower service is not available.

We are also temporarily discontinuing our towel service.

What is your Late policy?

Due to the need to maintain strict social distancing at all times, late entrance to class will not be allowed. No exceptions. But really, no exceptions.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have quite a generous policy allowing you to cancel with no penalty or lost class up to three hours before your class time. If you cancel with less than three hours notice, you will lose the class.

If you feel unwell suddenly and need to cancel class less than 3 hours before class, just email us.  We DO NOT want you coming to class if you feel unwell.  We will credit your class back onto your account.
